The food and service were very good. The place is cozy and very clean and although it was my first experience with indian food I think it exceeded the expectations.

The food was over my expectations. The explosion of different flavours that the dish had was exactly what Indian culture is about. It was the right amount of spiciness, sweetness and sour. The restaurant atmosphere was very welcoming. The staff were very friendly and respectful. I can confidently say that I had the best coffee in town.

I've had this itch for a few months to eat some spicy Indian food. At some point, I realized it has been a year or so, since I stepped into an Indian restaurant. This time, we went directly to Gandhi, hoping for some good spices. Well, I was... my wife is no fan of hot/spicy food. As a starter we shared prawns with a yummy tamarind sauce, wrapped in delicious super-fresh bread. This was our high point of the day. My wife had a great dish with battered prawns on a yummy, thick spinach sauce (Gulnar Jalpari). Spicing was not strong, so... ideal for her. Tasted great. I chose prawns (yes, again prawns) Jalfrezi and we shared some rice, garlic naan, and dahl. The dahl was delicious, and a bit spicy with lots of ginger and garlic. I can just scoop up a whole bowl like that with naan. The Jalfrezi dish was okay, but also a little disappointing. It wasn't very hot, and the sauce had been through a blender. One of the great things about a Jalfrezi dish, is when the veggies are still chunky and a little crunchy. Still, I ate as much as I could (everything together was a lot!) and I really enjoyed eating here. The noise from the street really is a downside, though. It is probably the price you pay for a central location. Next time, I'd happily try the prawn starter again, but I would specifically ask for more spice in my main dish. Nevertheless, my need for hot peppers was satisfied after so long, and we both enjoyed our meal. Btw... the staff was great!

Very good food. Enjoyed a spicy chicken, some aubergine slices and a perfect perfect pear. Delicious.

The food was really good, but to expensive! I tried the same thing in the past, at 60% the price!

A bit too spicy even for people who like spicy. And a bit expensive.
