If you want to indulge in a visual history lesson of the Romanian people, which has been woven for centuries, by means of the traditional attire for each Romanian region, then look no further. Pleasant to the eye, each section has its own unique features (starting from the traditional attire and household elements, and finishing off with tapestries and other exhibits). The only downside, however, is the overpriced merchandise.

A must see in town in top 10 things. O very unique and special collection of popular art and clothing. If a special vernisage is in place will be better. Do not forget to shop something from museum's shop.

I've understood that many exposed objects were utilised on special days.

I am very conflicted about this and all the other museums in the old town in Constanta. This one has great exhibits if you are interested in folk art, in particular textiles, and it is located in a beautiful building in the old city, which used to be the old post office. But there seems to be no interest in advertising And loving this and other museums. The museums in Constanta look like afterthoughts, as if we’re ashamed of them, as if they are made just for boring old scholars, and definitely as if they represent no potential touristic value. Go in, give this museum a chance, it is cheap and small and it does not take a lot of time and effort to visit. If you are into textiles, you might just be blown away. Even if it has the absolute worst website you’ve ever seen. Even if the people who work here do not have enough imagination to crate a more enticing and modern exhibition. The objects themselves are absolutely worth seeing. The building is also a little jewel, the 1896 first City Hall of the city of Constanta.

The museum hosts a very precious and rich ethnographic collection, with a focus on Dobrogea region. Customs, traditional clothing and objects are designed to offer a good insight into the traditions of this area.
