Turda is a lovely and clean city. Near Theater you can take cheap maxi-taxi to travel at the lovely countryside.
Well organized and a lot of fun
The Aurel Manea Theatre, Turda, is a late 19th century baroque jewel. and one of Romania's leading provincial theaters. Many leading national actors and directors.started work here. Tastefully restored with EU funds it is currently experiencing a renaissance in its programming thanks to the arrival of a dynamic young director, Catalin Grigoras, from Sibiu. The theatre stages performances most Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7.30 pm, and some matinees, with tickets on sale at the door. The repertoire is mostly Romanian, modern as well as classical, and above all comedy. Turda's theatre was once a Casino - a genteel tearoom which also served alcohol and allowed gambling. Traces of the former Casino can still be seen. There is also an interesting exhibition of old theatre posters in the theatre lobby.
Good actors, nice atmosphere.
