If you are trekking from north (e.g. from Pietrele) this is the last peak before the summit of Retezat. From Lolaia South the trail descends into the Lolaia Col (Saua Lolaia). From there a steep climb onto Retezat.

Pe varful sudic al Culmii Lolaia se poate ajunge de la Cabana Pietrele sau din Staiunea Rausor parcurgand in intregime Culmea Lolaia. Traseul se continua coborand in Saua Lolaia de unde se poate urca pe Varful Retezat (urcusul nu este usor) sau se poate cobora la Lacul Stevia si mai departe in Statiunea Rausor.
