PATRIR is an award-winning institution in the field of Peacebuilding, offering a variety of practical trainings each year to practitioners, diplomats, and other professionals involved in the fields of peace, conflict, violence, rule of law, capacity building, etc. Very useful and applicable lessons learned! Also, their trainings are incredible networking opportunities because you meet fellow participants in your field from all around the world.

I was surprised to discover that on my hometown of Cluj, in Romania, ( PATRIR is also located here ), PATRIR is talking against discrimination, but on its web page, in a document, there is a statement implying that they agree to a limited BDS (Boycott, Disinvestment and Sanctions) against Israel. We find this statement in a 2010 document written jointly with Nova: "Essential to the BDS movement [..] is to see how to bring forward the LEGITIMATE goal of ending the occupation". No matter how you take this statement, in context, the idea is that even a limited boycott against Israel, is somehow a legitimate tool. This is wrong in the first place because it distroys dialogue, and even the Foreign Minister Borge Brende of Norway wrote “We need more cooperation and dialogue, not boycott”. Here in Romania in my hometown of Cluj, because of the sufferings of the Jewish people, during Holocaust, I think that such actions bring a lot of painfull memories and emotions.
