Old 16th century castle of Stephanus Báthory, prince of Transylvania and king of Poland. Two donjon towers stand firmly, but the Italian style bastion and the reneissance palace are very deteriorated, they should immediately be renovated.... Authorities and Ngos could make together a project for this and aplly for financing. The castle is next to the Iuliu Maniu High School, the Police office, but what is mor important, that there is the synagogue , restaurate and functioning as a Holocaust memorial for northern Transylvania.

Unfortunately, the Báthory Castle is very neglected by the city, it is just a wreck now.
amazing place. the ice cream was delicious
The Castel works are ongoing for some years now and should have been open to the public by now. Can only be visited once a year on Simleu days when is usually open.
Remainings of the castle of principe Bathory, just a small tower and small part of the wall can be seen.
Nice ruins of the caste of count Báthory.
Great place but need serious renovation. Unfortunatelly closed for the tourists.
