Beautiful church! The guide was really nice and friendly. And always enjoys a good conversation with anyone willing to listen to him. The tours are in Romanian or German. You can even climb to the roof of the church. Truly worth seeing and bring other friends to visit.

Beautiful Saxon Lutheran Church. The architecture marks the transition from Roman style to Gothic style. You can find elementa from both styles in perfect harmony. It would be great if a restoration is undergoing.

Este impresionanta dar cand am ajuns eu era inchis pentru ca e in paragina in curte erau multe buruieni si doar in fata turnului nu era iarba mare am auzot clopotele la 12:00 urat neingrijita trebuia sa fie obiectiv turistic dar din pacate paragina einca in picioare poate fi restaurata dar asta nu stiu daca se va intampla

Geschichte Marktschelken isteinevon Siebenbürger Sachsen im Mittelalter gegründete Siedlung. Um 1300 wurde die - heute evangelische-Kirchegebaut. Der Ort wurde im Jahr 1309 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt und war Sitzdes Schelker Stuhls (später Zwei Stühle mit Sitzin Mediasch). Laut Volkszählung von 1992 lebten in Marktschelken 4.297 Rumänen, 431 Magyaren, 181 Roma und 147 Deutsche.
