A very large salt mine where you can quietly read a book or play tennis, have some physical exercises as every day an instructor comes at 9.30. Plenty of tables where you can have a snack ( there is a shop for that and also lots of souvenirs) or play chess, swings for children and most of all the nice , cold air that you can breath and escape the summer hot air. We have just returned from a 12 days holiday and I must say that it was a nice experience. We were never bored as we always found something to do. I strongly recommend it to everyone!

Not too many things to do here. Maybe my expectations were too high, but there is not much to see or to do.

Not very happy... The visit is overpriced. The place needs a better management. The carved church is a kitsch and the internet connection was less than poor. The worst coffee I've had.

Targu Ocna (Romanian pronunciation: [ˌtɨrɡu ˈokna]) is a town in Bacău County, Romania, situated on the left bank of the Trotuş River, an affluent of the Siret, and on a branch railway which crosses the Ghimeş Pass fromMoldavia into Transylvania. Târgu Ocna is built among the Carpathian Mountains on bare hills formed of rock salt. In fact the English translation of Ocna is salt mine. Târgu Ocna's main industry is salt production, as it is the largest provider in Moldavia. Other industries include wood processing, coal mining, steel producing, and petroleum-based industries.

Former salt mine now accessible for public via 3km bus ride into the mountain. In the mine, several (sportive) activities can be done. Great escape from summer heat.
