From the UNESCO heritage wooden churches the one in Rogoz is the only one located in a plain area. Consequently the surrounding landscape is not so beautiful like in case of the other wooden churches. Despite that, the Rogoz church is very nice and very well preserved, including the interior paintings.

One of amazing UNESCO Churches of Maramures; accessible from Rogoz village road via the cemetery. The older church is the one at the back. The main entrance is at the back via the side road. Called the mobile to ask someone to open up to see inside. Stayed at guesthouse in Cupseni ( 10 min drive).
I came after 1600, very peaceful and saw glimpse of wall painting with big wow wow. It's well kept and worth visiting
Very beautiful and in good shape! A bit different in architectural style, we loved it The priest made a very interesting presentation in English!
Impressive UNESCO monument. The church has a lot of years of history behind, it’s a pity because it doesn’t has some many visitors as the rest of the wooden churches from Maramures but just because somehow is isolated in Lapus county. It’s a pice of art that it’s a must see.
