Beautiful architecture of the place and an important site of pilgrimage for Roman Catholics in Central and Eastern Europe. What makes it all the more interesting for Romanians of all religions is that Pope Francis has recently managed to amass 1 million people in Miercurea Ciuc when visiting this Franciscan cathedral. The Pope placed a rose made of golden on the left side of the holy statue of Virgin Mary which is considered to hold miraculous healing powers. What Romanians visiting the Cathedral very much appreciate about it is that there is a prayer in Romanian which Romanians cam say when standing in front of the statue. Covid-19 rules were put in place and respected by all worshipers. There is enough parking on the opposite side of the street for at least 10 cars.

This is a beautiful historical Franciscan cathedral that was visited by the Pope last year (2019). It is a must for those practicing the catholic faith to make a pilgrimage from or to here. There are many icons and the statue of the Virgin Mary that have tales of miraculous deeds attached to them.
