The best hotel from region
this place is great for extended weddings. it's very beautiful and well tailored for a great many creature comforts. the staff is always very friendly and helpful. no cell reception whatsoever, though, however there is wifi coverage in the main building and some of the surrounding area
It was a pleasure to be here at this wonderful place and the staff was over my biggest expectations! Young team, always smiling, very clean everywhere, the tasty food, two lovely big dogs always sleeping, all of them were an amazing experience!
Old hunting mansion of Ceausescu, renovated and transformed into a nice business by two sisters who have studied hotelry and gastronomy in UK and US. And this can be seen in every aspect of the quiet, beautiful life that goes around at Hadar Chalet. Entire hotel is built with natural materials, the food is based on local products. Although fixed menu, we were impressed each day. They are flexible if one has special needs. Wine selection is very good, based entirely on Romanian wines. The mountain guide, Sebi, is a walking encyclopedia and the time spent with him is clearly worth it. The garden is an oasis of tranquility and a "cure" of at least 4-5 days a year would be excellent for any city life person.
Design-wise, this can easily pass as a typical modern chalet as it blends the best from the two worlds: it enbraces you with the traditional warmth of a wood cabin but has all the modern features a 21st century traveler should expect: strong and constant WiFi signal throughout the entire property, sat-TV, LCDs,outdoor swimming-pool. But no matter how gorgeous the surroundings are or how great a venue is, the services are the ones that make or break a deal. And this is where this place truly shines. The staff, although not large in numbers, is always very friendly, always with a smile on their faces. A five star rating here. Being a secluded location, the food and the menu suddenly becomes very important. Not to worry about anything here. The menu is mostly oriented towards Romanian-styled dishes but the quality is top notch all the time. Plus the ingredients are home grown.Of course, as with most things in life, everything must be judged in balance with costs: this is not cheap, by any standards. But in regard with the secluded scenery, quietness, room design, menu and the quality of the ingrediens and the top level service, this is definitely worth it.
