Luckily I found this Kayak rental on google maps and it turned out to be an awesome experience. This is a family business, in an early stage, ran by super nice and friendly people. All the necessary equipment is provided. Be aware that you must have a permit to explore the delta (google for it since you can do it online for 5 Lei). We were not aware of this but Flavius kindly help us out. Me and my girlfriend rented a tandem kayak for 2 and even without a lot of experience, we could easily go to the nearby lake and have a great time observing the local fauna and flora. A map of the surrounding area, with lakes and channels, is provided and the course is so easy that no one will get lost. This was definitely a great experience that I'll certainly do again if I return to Danube Delta. 100% recommended. Thank you Kayak Escape and good luck for the ongoing project.
The kayak trip was our highlight for the one week we spent in Danube Delta. The hosts were super-nice and friendly, they took us on a evening trip on a nearby lake to see the sunset. They helped us carry the kayaks to and from the water's edge and they were flexible with our schedule. Dunavatu De Jos is a less touristic area compared to other places like Sfantu Gheorghe, which is great, as we wanted to experience the authentic spirit of the Delta. We tried both the two-person and single kayaks and they were both great, although we liked more the freedom offered by the single one. Woth the trip and the time! We had a two day stay and went for kayak trips each day. It's easy, fun and relaxing, even if you are a newbie! On top of this, the hosts are adorable and the accomodation is modern, clean and welcoming!
Try this guys! It's a must if you visit Danube Delta.
