The property is full of history, you can see it from the entrance. The house is special especially by the fact that the original furniture is present, but also by the good taste with which it was built. The garden is wonderful, the secular trees are waiting to tell you their story.

Ensemble Golescu - Cultural Landscape Observatory, composed by the Golescu Villa and Golescu Dendrological Park, is an exceptional architectural ensemble included in the Historic Monuments List in 2015, owned by Pro Patrimonio Foundation. The villa was designed by architect Constantin Simionescu in the neo-Romanian style, specific to this region, a wonderful combination between the traditional architecture and the regional version of the Art Nouveau. The complex includes also an auxiliary keeper’s cottage, a model type for the gardener's shelter, reminiscent of cule (fortified rural residences in the South Carpathians), having the same national architectural style. The park covered more than 3 ha, being an example of biodiversity perfectly preserved, includes trees over 100 years old rarely encountered in Muscel area: magnolia, sycamore maple, Fir Duglas, tulip tree, edible chestnut, Ginkgo biloba, Japanese acacia, etc. Terraces and stairs are made of Albeşti stone without mortar. The Golescu complex is also an experimental learning: education and research through annual practical workshops on heritage; landscape design, maintenance and park planning, surrounding living customs; cooking; fabrics; conservation and restoration of monuments and art works architectural heritage education for children, etc. Mr. Nica, is a wonderful host and curator of this ensemble, who introduces the visitors in the atmosphere of the past epoch, present in each corner of this special place and in the history of the Golescu family.

It tells the story of Vasile Golescu, a France educated horticulture engineer and his twin daughters. A superb authentic house in neo-Romanian style surrounded by a majestic park is well accompanied by the Great storyteller who is the guide. You will learn about Golescu family, one of the most important in Valahia, and how it survived the Communist regime.

Great place filled with history. A very nice old villa, renovated by an ONG, and administrated by a talented man. We went to this villa to observe it and noticed that this can be visited if you call the administrator. The man comes and offers important details of the old villa and the Golescu Family. He offered us a private tour of the house and the garden, with stories about each piece of the furniture, paintings, trees in the garden. We stayed two hours, as the villa is ful of nice things and really enjoyed the company of the administrator and his stories. It was the best time spent in Campulung Muscel town.
