The Curtici Baptist Church exists to glorify God through Worship, Teaching, Fellowship, Serving, and Evangelism in the area in which He placed us. The family of our church is composed of 394 members.
The church gathers regularly every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday to fellowship.
In 1887, with an unseen hand, looking for a place where he could take care of the trade and earn a living, the young shoemaker, Mihai Brumar, arrived in the commune of Curtici. He came from Oradea, and there he came from Budapest. There, in the Hungarian capital, where he learned the profession, he converted to the Baptist faith in the German Baptist church there, where he was pastor Henrik Mayer.
In 1896 he came to Curtici, Vasile Berbecar, invited by his friend Mihai Brumar. In time of his stay at Curtici, Berbecar set up a Sunday School in the church here, according to the model he saw German Baptist Jerusalem. This is the first Sunday school in Transylvania between Romanians.
Here was the Fraternal Aid introduced. Because among the believers they were hard-working and hardly able to work, the younger ones organized one day, when the others came together and helped to dig corn or harvest of wheat. In many cases, only women were gathered, especially the corn brood. While they were working, they all were singing and their melodies were heard in the field. In this way, all of the commune could see the brotherly love in Christ. On the other hand, believers arriving at old age were aided, so as not to lack the necessary life. This very good custom has been preserved in Curtici for a long time and after the death of those who have organized this work for the old or sick.
From Curtici the news of the gospel spread further in the commune of Arad County. The Curtici Church has become a missionary and evangelistic center. (Luguzau, Buteni, Siclau, Tudla, Socodor, Nadab, Pecica, Macea, Syria, Radna, Julita, Dumbravita, Corbesti, Petris and others)
