A few days ago we returned from a full 7 days holiday in Romania (Cluj Napoca), we also read a lot stories about the rental companies and we had a lot of concerns before we decided to rent the car with Autonom We paid a holding deposit of 1000 that was refunded when we returned the car after 7 days. To our great surprise the service was excellent and after 20 minutes we got the vehicle that served us perfectly for 1480 kilometers we did in Romania. and his fuel consumption was incredible Return car was simple and without problems And I highly recommend working with a Autonom company and special thanks to Andrei.

We had booked a party in the mountains with friends. Those friends didn’t appear because this car hire company tricked them out of their money and refused to give them a car. Be very careful dealing with this company. There are much better ones out there. We used Hertz and had no problems at all.

I hired a car the week before I arrived. Pre-paid and booked. I walked two miles to their tired looking office in the middle of nowhere to be told “you hired your car from 11am and now it’s 12noon, there is no car for you”. They offered no solution, no alternative. Absolutely terrible for us. All our family plans to visit sites and family in Transylvania cancelled. The money paid lost. No phone call from Autonom before the “one hour deadline” to chase me up. No email. No stipulation in their terms that being one hour late was deemed a cancellation. No apology. I’ve travelled all over the world, hired cars in six continents, I’ve never heard of such practice. I had hired the car for three days, that car is mine for three days, already paid for. If I’d been 5 hours late I’d still expect a car to be available, as I’d already paid and hired it. Do not use this car company. They offer very dubious and suspicious business methods. They are seeking to exploit tourists. A terrible example for a great city trying to attract tourists. Sadly it’s companies like this that let the city and everybody associated with Cluj down.
