An original monument dedicated to celebrate a wise king (in Romanian "voievod" or "domnitor") of the one of those three Romanian princedoms (Tara Romaneasca) between 1678-1688 when he suddenly died, probably assassinated - some historians supposed. This important character of the Romanian history was a courageous knight of the Orthodox Christianity, he fought against the Turkish Empire, he protected the culture, he introduced the corn in this country _ now the corn is one of the most important crops in Romania. The sculpture is very impressive - take a look to see the genuine position of the king and the special basement... The author of the sculpture is the Romanian artist Mihai Buculei (born in 1940), an important sculptor in this country!
