Strange how many reviewers rate the shows they saw, not the actual venue! The places still oozes the communist days. I venture to guess that the place is still state own and riddled with corrupt management and staff. That explains the utter rudeness and unhelpfulness from staff that I experienced. The hall was full of dust, the seats old, covered in dirty fabric and extremely uncomfortable. Everything in the place has not been renewed since the heyday of communism in the 70’s. Whoever manages this place aspires, at most, to mediocrity. And fails miserably! It needs to be sold to a specialised company which could spark some new life into it. The state doesn’t have the skills to run such a venue. In a way it reflects Romania today - wants badly to be European and modern, but is held back by corruption and bad history. I was excited to see a show at this venue, but will not rush back!

Great concert hall near center of the city!

The place is old and obsolete. With some small changes, it could look better (a simple change of the rugs and chairs). The hall itself is big and imposing, but it looks just like 30-40 years ago.

Needs some renewing of seats and carpets but great shows

I was at standup comedy. The place is big and nice. They have two small shops for soft drinks.

A massive venue, perfect for concerts, summits, exhibitions and events. Really close to Grand Hotel Bucharest and the city centre. Lots of parking spaces and green parks around it. The building inside is huge with several floors and the typical grandeur for the post-soviet architectural style.

I was yesterday, the 23rd of Dec to watch the Nutcracker ballet show. For 1978 it would have been a great experience. For 2018 it was a execrable experience; here's why: The Spectacle Room was old, like a yellow shadowy pressure that was coming from a Comunist past, the chairs were hard to stand on each one being unique in it's sitting \footprint\; raggedy in material and with an old brown in it. I was seated in sector L in row 15(a central seat), a sector that was high above, very high at the first level of the room (balcony), to give you a perspective, the ballet dancers were quite far away with facial features that were hard to distinguish. I paid 100 Ron (22 euro) for a category 3 out of 4 ticket (4 is the worst). A price extortionately high for what the overall experience was. The Russian Ballet was performing the Nutcracker but with a mediocre presentation, out of sync with the music and themselves in some cases. They must have sent their secondary ballet team . Sala Palatului is not an Opera House so don't expect to see an orchestra, it was recorded music. So, actually, the show was at half the intensity of a usual ballet performance. The decorations were cheep, not having a real Christmas Tree on the stage but with a printed background curtain of one. The \Christmas\ curtain even had holes in it on the side from where light was coming from! Worth mentioning is that the lighting and curtains were out of sync with the dancers as well, as the curtain and lights closed before the dances fully ended. Considering all these points I highly recommend that the administration of \Sala Palatului\ keep the building for it's traditional Communist Party forums and gatherings and not sell events to locals or tourists. I left at the half of the show. I considered that loosing the ticket money and the time for the first act was enough.

An incredible and a very pleasant experience! I went there for a concert, an amazing one, the band named The Post Modern Jukebox #PMJTour and this event was outstanding, believe me!!! A very good qualitative music, an awesome sound, good lights effects, magical moments, enthusiast atmosphere, a great public, a very well done show!!! It is almost impossible that this large hall, that impressive stage to be the same with those where the Communist party and the dictator Ceausescu made all the congresses... But no, it is the same building but the magic wand of history transformed everything...
