It's a lovely nostalgic trip down memory lane for a 90s kid like myself, featuring a collection of common household items from both the communist era and the post-communist transition. Just like its title, it's kitsch but it defined several decades and most of these items can still be found in old Romanian houses. Seeing these objects feels like peeking into an entirely different world from the one we've become today. I met the founder, Adrian and his team and it's been a pleasure to have a chat with them. This museum deserves its own place somewhere downtown and I'm confident that it will have it someday.

This is an atypical museum, the best part: you can touch anything. It is not big (imagine a house with 4-5 rooms) but has a lot of intresting things. There are seven aspect of kitsch - Dracula, Religious, Communist, Gipsy, Modern, Interior Design, Your kitsch. In Romania, communism ended in 1989. I was born in 1995 but knew almost every thing from communism era. Interior design kitsch was a trip to childhood. Your kitsch -\u003e use clay to create something “kitschy”. Remember old “console”. Well they have one too and you can play Mario. Awesome.

The museum is absolutely SPOT ON regarding Romanian culture - I’ve recognised so many of the artefacts. In the scene with ‘Rapirea din Serai’ I felt like in my grandparents’ bedroom. We had so much fun and loved it - it’s well worth a visit (or more)!

A good place to go if you want a more interactive experience compared to some other museums. Certainly has some eccentric and enjoyable parts within it. However your visit will likely be a short one and some may find it expensive for the time spent there.

What good fun we had! If you can, take a Romanian friend or a guide with you when visiting, so you will better understand what you are seeing. All the objects have a reason they are there, but it's not obvious. Like the \bag of bags\ :D We were expecting a very small museum but it is very well structured, split into 7 parts, on two floors. We found many interesting things to look at, the Bruce Lee documentary included, and many memories found us. Great initiative! (PS: Thank you for letting us interact with objects and take pictures)
