Their Graphic Design courses were recommended to me by someone who did them and was already working as a graphic designer after graduation. I was looking for a long course that would help me learn Photoshop and Illustrator as well as understand better what graphic design is about. I felt great during their courses. The teachers are super friendly and eager to give you advice regarding both getting hired and freelancing in the industry. They also took the time to give feedback to each of us and help us correct our mistakes, which is extremely valuable for a newbie. There's a lot to say, so go ahead and find out yourself what it's all about :)
I recommend the Web Development path, it's super well structured and the teacher is amazing!
The lessons are good but the students aren't being treated equally. Like if their work isn't on par with what the trainer thinks is good you'll get pushed to the side. He's focused more on selecting the talented people than on teaching everyone. How the hell am I gonna get better if you don't tell me what's wrong and how to improve? Trainer made me go a second time and redo everything instead of actually teaching amd explaining how to improve what I already made. So when I went he told a group of strangers how my work wasn't good enough and I'm here to go through everything again. Not cool. Didn't go back again. At the same time if you're considered good you're being praised and given opportunities that aren't available for others. I did learn basic design stuff which is cool but I don't think I've been treated well as someone who's there to learn. I paid to join a school not a contest! Also, they are not transparent for exams. I'm not going back.
Great learning experience! The courses are well structured, which helps a lot with the amount of technical information you need to learn. The practical exercises are also a massive help. But it's not focused solely on the technical aspects of learning a few new softwares. The trainers actually give you some nods and a helping hand in the creative direction, as well as tips&tricks, if they see you interested, even if you are a beginner in the field. You can sense their passion&enthusiasm for what they do and that they wanna help others grow as well. I've been active in other creative fields before and the instructors' patience was something I didn't really expect, a lovely surprise. Admittedly though, the best part about Pixellab must be the cat! :D
I couldn't recommend them enough They ARE the best in the industry! Can't wait to return for another class.
