A visit during the tour, Dark Side of Bucharest. We had a very friendly and nice guide with us. She told many stories about the cemetery and some secrets about famous people beeing there. The area has a very dark and sad history and not only for the ordinary reasons, also because of how some people has been handle by others. You can get a lot of special photos and videos there. There is also some nice view with arts, flowers and other plants. One nice cat came to the group and followed us.

A very impressive place built on the initiative of CA Rosetti on the place of the former gardens of the Bellu baron. Here was buried a large number of the personalities of the Romanian Culture as the national poet Mihai Eminescu or the great actor Toma Caragiu, the genius Constantin Tanase or the unbelievable architect GM Cantacuzino. A lot of the monuments of the graves have small or big sculptures, busts or portraits, ensembles of characters, coat of arms, small chapels or castles, etc. Here you may discover pieces of art signed by Storck, Han, Paciurea, Romarelli or Carol. The entire areal is declared patrimonial monument...
The only museum-cemetery in Bucharest; has some interesting monuments, especially from the beginning of the 20th century.; guided visit revommended; tough street parking; metro access; free entrance;
A really beautiful place to visit in Bucharest. For those of you who appreciate a museum-cemetery. It's a must see! I also recommend the Catholic side of the Cemetery
Absolutely beautiful resting place for many outstanding citizens of Romania
One of the most beautiful cemetery-museum from Romania.
Beautiful cemetery. Do be respectful and avoid stepping on graves. Also be careful of security who might ask for you a 'photo tax'
It was a sad moment for me there, that's why only 4 stars. Very beautiful place otherwise.
