Romania Youth Council - CTR is the national non-governmental youth structure that gathers most of the NGOs at national level, NGOs internationally affiliated and county youth federations. The main goal of CTR is to stimulate youth participation in the Romanian political, social, economic and cultural life, as well as to support the common interests of its members at the national and international levels. CTR is the main non-governmental partner before the Romanian central public administration authorities and institutions enabled in the field of youth policy. CTR is a candidate member of the European Youth Forum, established in Brussels, representation platform of youth at European level, the main partner of the European Institutions, Council of Europe and the United Nations in the elaboration of youth policies at European and international level. On the national level, CTR contributed to the elaboration of the “National Youth Action Plan in Romania”, to the elaboration of the “Law no 146/2002 regarding the legal status of the county youth foundations and of the National Foundation for Youth, the “Law no 425/2004 regarding the Youth National Day”, the “Law no 350/2006 - Law on Youth” and contributed actively to the improvement of the specific methodology for the financing of youth programs. On a current base, CTR organizes and participates in various conferences and debates regarding youth policies in Romania. Enclosed with the European youth movement values, CTR supported the idea of having a fundamental document as well as a coherent youth strategy at European level, thus being actively involved in the debates concerning the elaboration of various documents such as the WHITE PAPER “A New Impetus for the European Youth” (2001), European Youth Pact (2005), The renewed framework for European cooperation in the youth field 2010-2018 (2009).
